An open letter to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
An open letter to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Dear Sir,
I'm an ardent supporter of you since your 'Reformation' rally days. I had been supporting your party in each and every election to this date and I will do the same in the future too. I strongly disagree with all those race based parties such as MCA, MIC & so on. They should abolished. I believe, multiracialism/multiculturalism is the hope of the nation.
But, Can I say I'm happy with your madani government thus far? No, I'm not. In fact, I'm very much disappointed with the way you are handling the 'Vel.. Vel..' issue fuelled by Zamry Vinod Kalimuthu. You may think, it's only normal to receive this letter from a hindu and it's not worth your time any further. Sorry Sir. If that is your understanding, please allow me to humbly and fervently disagree with your Good self.
I decided to write this letter because, first of all I'm a fellow human being. Secondly, I'm a Malaysian Indian. That's all my identity. I don't have religious identity behind me. Because I do not believe in one. I just do not understand why Zamry Vinod Kalimuthu is always being 'six pence short of a shilling' and no stern action has been taken against him until now?
Sir, please allow me to bring your valuable attention to the following press statement you released on July 11 2024. What is the meaning of this statement?. Isn't it a final warning? How, Zamry Vinod Kalimuthu has the audacity to ridicule other religions despite your final warning?
Sir, please don't give an impression that, your final warning 'didn't hold water'.
Thank you.
A law abiding Atheist.
PM's Press release as below.
FINAL WARNING TO THOSE PLAYING UP 3R ISSUES - ANWAR
KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has issued a final warning to all parties to not exploit issues touching on race, religion and the royal institution (3R) which can split the country.
He said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) would monitor the situation without exception.
“This is the final warning from the government as I, as prime minister, have no choice due to insistence from thinkers and to protect national security. This supersedes interests.
“Certain people feel they are too high up and great so they cannot possibly be charged or challenged.
“The country cannot be like this; we cannot consider and choose based on rank, descent or wealth,” he told reporters after chairing the Unity Government Leadership Consultative Council meeting at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur tonight.
The prime minister said the country would not remain stable if desperate parties were allowed to continue to do whatever they pleased to preserve their authority or to seek new spheres of influence.
